Design collaboration

Kite manufacturing and design are closely linked and we are proud to collaborate with Ralf Groesel on the designs of the new generation of Reedin kites. Ralf knows exactly how to work with the materials and production techniques of his factory to ensure that only the absolute best kites leave the production line.

Alongside his production experience, Ralf has been designing kites for over 20 years, and combining this with the experience and skills of Damien Girardin has allowed us to develop kites that are a huge leap forward for the entire kite industry, whilst keeping the Reedin DNA intact in terms of the feel and response of the kite.

Features:

Unique to Brainchild Production is the patented PROWELD technology. Instead of sewing the individual segments of the kite's leading edge, Ralf Grösel has developed a production technique that allows him to weld the individual segments together.

How a kite turns has always been a key focus for Damien when developing kites, and PROWELD makes it possible for there to be no play between the individual leading edge segments. This means that the entire LE behaves as if it were made from a single piece - with absolutely perfect bending and rebound characteristics.

In addition to the enormous advantages in terms of turning ability, responsiveness and rider feedback, PROWELD requires much less material than conventional kite designs, making the reedin kites produced at Brainchild the lightest kites on the market without having to use extremely expensive materials.

• Flexstrut Lite - These lightweight struts made of polyester ripstop with Mylar foil offer a perfect flex pattern.
• Trailing edge stiffners - Reduces drag on the outside of the turn when steering or looping the kite.
• Digitally printed canopy
• Hardflyte Canopy - The Hardflyte Canopy material used for the middle part of the kite helps to generate maximum lift and allows the highest possible angle of attack.
• Teijin Canopy - The Teijin canopy in the wingtips offers a slightly softer feel and increases turning speed.
• PROWELD - The PROWELD technology is used to connect all 18 leading edge segments. This results in a drastic weight reduction as much less material and reinforcements are needed and creates a seamless connection for the most homogeneous torsional characteristics over the entire LE shape.

Crossmixed canopy

Unique to HYPERMODEL is a canopy construction consisting of Hardflyte and Teijin. The stiff Hardflyte is used in the middle to achieve the greatest lift and the highest angle of attack. Our proven Teijin in the wingtip provides a little more softness for the fastest possible turns.

HYPERMODEL generates more vertical pull because it sits further into the wind window. This means that the pull time in a kiteloop can be shorter, making learning your first kiteloops much easier and safer than before.

HYPERMODEL creates an extremely smooth and predictable pull through the loop, allowing you to perform technical tricks and loop variations with incredible confidence. It shoots back up so fast that you're guaranteed to catch it quickly, making timing less critical and more forgiving.
