Pantheon Hoku 102mm 74A Longboard Wheels

The Pantheon Hoku Wheels are a product of direct collaboration with one of the world's best competitive skateboarders, Adam Ornelles. Adam helped develop the 92mm Karma Wheels, but while he loves those wheels, he still wants to race with even bigger wheels, and that's where the 102mm Hoku Wheels come in.

No expense has been spared to make these wheels the ultimate racer. Several molds and castings were tested. Some theories were proven wrong, and experience helped perfect this wheel shape. A deeper flex channel on the inner lip provides additional edge flex required for this larger diameter. The relatively small 52mm contact patch keeps the weight down while providing consistent grip you can rely on. Testing with wider footprints has shown that while slightly more maximum grip can be achieved at certain widths, the tread is less predictable and loses grip unexpectedly, while the 52mm footprint is consistent and feels more comfortable and trustworthy when pushed to its limits. It doesn't hurt that the smaller CP weighs a few grams less either!

The Hoku are the lightest wheels in their size category, with a 55mm lightweight custom core and just the right amount of urethane and shape to get the job done. Although they are light for their size, they are still quite heavy unless you are used to riding wheels this big! Go for the Hoku if weight and ride height are less important than maximum rolling speed on less than perfect road surfaces and a high swing. The large diameter compensates for bumps and debris, and since they are 10 mm larger than the 92 mm Karma Wheels, they increase the ride height by 5 mm. More power is required to get them going, but they keep the momentum like no other!
