North Ranger Parawing

The Ranger Parawing is an extra short cut single skin kite, designed so that you can get up on the foil with the support of the wind and then simply stow it away so that you can continue foiling hands-free with the power of the ocean.

It gives you the freedom to surf the wave unrestricted without a paddle, inflatable wing or kite. If you fall off the foil, simply pull your Ranger out again and keep going. The Ranger is equipped with North's exclusive D-Rib technology, which supports the canopy diagonally to distribute the load optimally and reduce the number of bridles required. This also means that the canopy remains stable when the bar is depowered and the wing responds to the finest steering impulses.

Another highlight in the development is the Depower Tab, which is located in the middle of the fluoro-yellow LE bridle line. The Depower Tab acts as a handbrake, allowing the rider to take the weight off the kite. The tab can also be hooked onto the end of the bar to depower while riding. The color-coded canopies and bridles allow for quicker visual orientation when launching or unthreading the lines.

The Ranger can be stowed as a lightweight, slim backpack with additional straps and a bag in which you can transport a deflated wing or a second parawing on the water. The bag is designed so that you can carry one Ranger in your hand (4m) and two more in the bag (3m+5m) and then change size depending on conditions or riding style without having to return to the beach. 

The bag is close fitting so it can be worn while diving, it dries quickly and has recycled polyester fabric straps that fit over wetsuits and life jackets.

The Ranger can be used not only for foiling and then stowing away, but also as a rescue parachute when wingfoiling or paddling, at the start or end of a downwind paddle to get into better bumps, for surfing in waves without pumping or jetskiing - especially on point breaks with side shore breeze. For launching when there is no room to set up a wing or kiting is prohibited. For freestyle and freeride, on land with the Track Skateboard or Dune Mountainboard, or on skates, skis or snowboard.
