Longboard helmet: protection for everyone
It is a fallacy to believe that you no longer need a helmet once you reach a certain level of experience. Very often, falls are influenced by external factors over which you have no control. These include

Therefore, always be smart and protect your head - because it is the most vulnerable part of the human body. In principle, nobody should go without a helmet. However, this is especially true for beginners and children.

Finding the right longboard helmet
When choosing a helmet, you shouldn't just look for a cool color. Helmets only protect you from falls if they fit properly. It is therefore important that you know your helmet size. To determine this, you need to measure your head circumference. Common helmet sizes and the corresponding head circumferences are

In order to adapt the helmet to your head size and shape, many models are equipped with various fine adjustment controls. This provides additional protection and helps the helmet to grow with you (usually in the case of children).
However, it is not only the size of the helmet that is important, but also its shape. That's why you should always opt for special skater helmets, which you can recognize by their round shape. Bicycle helmets that taper towards the back in a teardrop shape are not suitable for longboarding. They pose a high risk of injury, as the elongated shape can damage the cervical spine if you fall backwards.
