The evolution of the downwind board concept
Based on the learnings from the downwind boards first introduced in 2023, the evolution of these boards is faster, more refined and, depending on size, even more stable for riders from beginner to advanced. Like the previous generation, these boards are extremely versatile and great for light wind winging and SUP surf foiling.
To achieve more efficiency and ease of use during paddle pop-up, each size has been lengthened by 3.5-5% to improve paddling speed and increase stability. The foil tracks are now also further forward to increase maneuverability and buoyancy. Combined with subtle refinements to the rocker line and overall shape of the tail, these boards lift off the water exceptionally cleanly and easily.
Inspired by the new deck handle design of the Wing FG foil boards, the Downwind and Downwind Performance boards feature a completely redesigned handle specifically tailored to provide riders with maximum control, comfort and versatility when downwinding. In conjunction with the flatter deck shape, this grip features raised central bars over the foil tracks and raised blocks in each corner of the pad, front and back, for intuitive foot placement. The boards come with the deck grips removed so riders can finalize their perfect setup.

- Split foredeck: Inspired by the Wing FG boards, the split, anhedral foredeck shape sheds water effortlessly.
- Refined bow: Improved paddle efficiency and touchdown recovery as well as reduced swing weight when pumping and carving.
- Minimal deck recess: A flatter deck to accommodate more volume and drain standing water faster.
- New Deck Handle: As with ARMSTRONG's Wing FG board range, raised deck handle arch bars and front/rear corner blocks provide intuitive foot placement cues.
- Diamond V-Tail: Completely new tail shape with significantly more rocker and an additional chine to improve launch performance and minimize tail touchdown when pumping and carving.
- Foil track placement: Shifted further forward for more lift and maneuverability.
- Carbon Foil Tracks: Proprietary carbon fiber foil tracks are wedged directly into the fibers of the stringers for a fully integrated construction.
- Proven Construction: The double I-beam strands from deck to bottom provide maximum structural rigidity and durability.
